Job Description Summary
Under the direction of SP2's Human Resources Director (H.R.D.) the H.R. Coordinator (HRC) will be responsible for supporting many H.R. functions for the School of Social Policy & Practice (SP2) by delivering a wide range of administrative and logistical support for Human Resources services. A substantial portion of the role will focus on assisting with staff on-boarding/off- boarding, event planning, and execution. Additionally, the H.R.C. will manage H.R. updates and contributions to SP2's webpage, newsletter, help to coordinate H.R. events (logistics, contacting vendors, registration, etc.), draft communications, and be first contact to answer general policy/procedure questions. This role will work closely with the H.R D. on school initiatives, trainings/workshops, and other ad hoc projects.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for HR professional development and engagement events. Coordinate necessary arrangements and logistics for various HR events (catering, registration, flyer creation, payments, surveys, etc.).
  • Support recruitment processes as needed including assisting hiring managers with creating job descriptions, entering job requisitions into Workday, as well as general Workday workflow inquiries.
  • Onboarding/Offboarding: Send welcome emails and checklists. Work with hiring managers to monitor and ensure that staff onboarding (I.T. needs, office space, etc.) is completed within the school. Follow up with full-time and part-time staff hires on required Workday action items and SP2 onboarding tasks in a timely manner. Conduct SP2 new employee orientation on a regular basis. Update SP2 staff list-serve and directory. Assist with managing the exit and offboarding process for departing/transferring staff.
  • Work closely with Communications and highlight H.R. news and information for our community. Craft and copyedit H.R. content for monthly SP2 community newsletter. Manage department website/SharePoint and update content as needed.
  • Conduct research as needed to assist with ad hoc HR projects. Provide thought partnership in creating HR programming, resources, and building engagement initiatives. Complete special projects and create surveys.
  • Administrative duties including supporting D.H.R., maintaining, and ordering supplies, creating, and maintaining personnel files, and serving as first point of contact for HR resource for policy/procedure questions. Troubleshoot questions and provide front-line support. Provide Workday support as needed. Maintain HR website.
  • Serve as SP2's Service Recognition Awards coordinator. Serve on committees focused on staff issues, concerns, and areas of development/improvement
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including participation in convocation and graduation ceremonies as needed.


Qualifications
  • High School Grad/GE Degree, and 5 to 7 years of relevant experience is required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience and an interest in Human Resources is desired, as well as an eagerness to learn and grow within Human Resources. Experience and proficiency with Workday, MS Office, Workday, creating surveys, and other project management and/or people systems highly preferred. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities required. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with tact and diplomacy is necessary. Experience working with confidential information and sensitive matters, and ability to exercise excellent judgment and discretion. Event planning/coordinating is necessary.
  • Target Salary is $23 - 27/hour; commensurate with experience.
