Job Description Summary
The primary function of this position is to coordinate clinical research studies in the division of nuclear medicine in the department of Radiology and provide support for research activities. Research Project Manager A will be responsible for supporting clinical trials within Nuclear medicine and Molecular Imaging division of the department of Radiology
including the initial set-up, regulatory filings, implementation and oversight of new and ongoing trials. Responsibilities will include regulatory submissions, operationalizing study protocols and procedures, correspondence with sponsors and/or investigators regarding start up and study management, communication with internal UPenn regulatory bodies and external regulatory agencies (e.g. FDA, sponsor or CROs). This position will include a supervisory role in training for clinical research coordinators or research assistants within the Nuclear Medicine clinical coordination unit. Tasks will include working closely with PET Center Associate director, Principal Investigators and other coordinators in the unit and in collaborating departments and staff within the nuclear medicine clinic to plan and implement study procedures, collect and monitor data and report study progress internally and to study sponsor. Responsible for preparation and submission of
IRB and other regulatory submissions, correspondence and organization and maintenance of regulatory documentation following good clinical practice guidelines for conduct of research involving human subjects. This position will oversee or perform data entry, aid in resolving data queries, review screening and enrollment for multiple studies and work with other study team members to identify optimal recruitment strategies. Project manager will oversee scheduling and coordination of study related visits, participate in preparation and conduct of monitoring and audits including study initiation and closeout visits with sponsor. This position will be help oversee management and coordination of a number of ongoing active trials involving investigational radiopharmaceuticals for therapeutic use or nuclear medicine imaging studies particularly in cancer, addiction, infectious disease, cardiology and neurology. This position will be asked to work closely in conducting clinical trials with both Radiology investigators and investigators from referring departments (Oncology, Cardiology, Neurology, Psychiatry). Responsibilities may include management of complex imaging or therapeutic infusion visits involving multiple investigational radiopharmaceuticals and specialized blood and image analysis. The project manager A will be responsible for the abstraction of medical record information from subject's electronic medical records, interviews and/or questionnaires for entry into the research databases - including but not limited to RedCap, CTMS, Electronic data capture programs specified by study sponsors. The project manager A will aid in coordination of multi-site grant funded research for which Penn will act as the sIRB, this will involve close communication with the IRB, academic clinical sites participating in a multi-center NIH funded grant and IND support team at Penn and other sites.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.


This position is contingent upon grant funding.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
