Responsibilities
The Head Coach for Beach Volleyball is responsible for planning, administering, and evaluating theoverall operation of the athletic sport program to include, but not limited to, team performance,supporting the academic achievement of student-athletes, recruiting, program management (eligibility,scheduling, travel planning, budget management, fundraising, equipment, etc.) community service,supervision of assistant coaches and program personnel, and compliance. The Head Coach isresponsible for ensuring that team performance is competitive within the West Coast Conference withthe goal of achieving post season competition.
1. Team Development: Organize and evaluate practices and training plansand intercollegiate competitions. Teach necessary skills from the basicfundamentals to techniques and strategies.
2. Recruiting: Identifying recruits who will enhance the academic andathletic culture at Saint Mary's College.
3. Fundraising: Work towards hitting fundraising budget goals from eventsto direct solicitations. Assist with alumni events, fundraising for the teamand promotional events as requested. Attend events as requested, fulfillspeaking engagements and support athletic fundraising. All fundraisingactivities must be approved by the sport supervisor and the AthleticCompliance Office and be in compliance with the College, NCAA andWest Coast Conference rules and guidelines.
4. Academic Success: Creating an environment where our student-athletes can reach success in the classroom. Responsible for the academicperformance of team members including graduation from the College.Support, monitor, and evaluate the academic performance of the student athletes participating in the sport program. Work closely with StudentAthlete Services to assist student-athletes as needed with their academicsuccess.
5. Collaberating with various departments throughout athletics and SaintMary's to enhance Beach Volleyball team. Responsible for building acompetitive schedule, preparing and staying within the sport budget andarranging travel with support from the athletic business office. Collaboratewith the equipment manager to order, inventory and care for all athleticequipment and uniforms. Schedule facility and game management needsfor the sport program with the facilities and operations staff.
6. Know, recognize, and comply with the laws, policies, rules, and regulationsgoverning the College and its employees, and the rules of the National CollegiateAthletic Association (including, but not limited to, NCAA Bylaw, Article 11 and itsrequirement to report all athletically-related income and benefits from sourcesoutside of the College to the President) and of the West Coast Conference as nowconstituted or as may be amended in the future. Supervise and ensure that anyassistants and any other employees and/or volunteers for whom you areadministratively responsible comply with the aforesaid policies, rules andregulations. Immediately advise the Director of Athletics if you have reasonablecause to believe violations, whether by employees or students, have occurred orwill occur.

Experience and Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: REQUIRED: Bachelors PREFERRED: Masters

Experience: (years required and applicable field of experience): 5+

Skills/Abilities: (e.g. computer skills, written & verbal skills, trades, laws, procedures, technical)

Licenses & Certifications (e.g. CPA, RN, etc.):
