Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Facilities Operations, the Manager of Logistics and Operations is responsible for managing and facilitating the operational and logistic needs of District services including access control, warehouse, carpentry, custodial, fire protection, irrigation, lighting, utility metering, signage, and the TCC vehicle fleet.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Maintains complete responsibility and oversight of day-to-day operations of district services including access control, warehouse, carpentry, custodial, fire protection, irrigation, lighting (nLight and ROAM), utility metering, signage, and TCC fleet, ensuring all services and activities are effectively managed, coordinated, and delivered
  • Assumes direct accountability for program results, effectiveness, and compliance with policies, rules, and procedures including compliance with all applicable Federal, State, local laws, regulations, statutes, codes, and standards
  • Responsible for the cost-effective management of department specific service contracts; responsible for all aspects of service delivery pursuant to these contracts
  • Conducts periodic and ongoing performance review of service contracts
  • Responsible for the development, preparation, and justification of the annual facility budget, quarterly forecasts, and business plans as determined or assigned.
  • Participates in the development of operations and maintenance budget for the district services; including contributions towards a five-year plan of maintenance, facilities improvement, and cost reduction initiatives
  • Manages current and future development of service requirements for access control system, fire protection system, irrigation system, lighting system, and utility metering system
  • Streamlines processes and workflows to ensure efficient and effective allocation and delivery methods while ensuring delivery of district-level service work orders and resolves, coordinates, redirects, and coordinates service work order issues
  • Enforces organization, management, and tracking of the warehouse inventory
  • Oversees and coordinates in-house micro-projects and project support
  • Responsible for effective and proactive employee interaction with all departmental staff



General Supervision and Management
  • Provides leadership, direction, on-going monitoring, evaluations, training, and support for staff and actives under the responsibility of this position
  • Ensures that support staff consistently provide positive and prompt responses to requests from user groups and facilities leadership

Service Excellence
  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
  • Supports the mission, values and 3 Goals and 8 Principles of the College

Supervision Works under the general supervision of Director of Facilities Operations

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:
  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and certification
  • Two (2) years’ experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others; leading projects or processes)
  • Valid Texas driver’s license with proof of insurance


Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:
  • Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems
  • Experience working and managing staff in a Facilities and Warehouse environment
  • Experience working in the field of Logistics and Operations Management


Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, ordinances, codes, and standards that are relevant to operating requirements of district systems
  • Skilled with Smartsheet, AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
  • Skilled using logistics and operations applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Skilled in oral and written communications
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
