Position Summary:
The Computer Science department at Arkansas State University (A-State), Jonesboro, invites outstanding candidates to apply for a non-tenure-track Instructor post in Computer Science within the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CoECS). The position is for a nine-month renewable contract with opportunities for summer teaching beginning in the Fall of 2023
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teaching load of in this position is normally fifteen hours per semester. Faculty is also expected to participate in professional development in the best interests of the students and community at large - this may include research, creative activity and service All faculty members are expected to assume student academic advisement responsibilities as well Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Applicants should be able to teach in-class undergraduate courses in Computer Science
• Online course delivery experience would be beneficial
• Ability to advise students and participate in assessment activities
• Participate in service activities within the CoECS. In particular, the successful candidate should expect to be involved in recruitment and retention activities at the program, college, and university levels
• Participate in ABET accreditation activities
General Days/Hours:
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Master's Degree appropriate for the discipline and professional experience appropriate to the discipline is required
Teaching experience in undergraduate Computer Science courses is preferred
