Job Details
The Associate Director of Software Development is primarily responsible for leading software and application development projects in support of Drexel University's new Marketing & Communications Department. Working with the Executive Director of Marketing Technology, the Associate Director of Software Development will also play a critical role in defining strategic initiatives for the enterprise. The Associate Director of Software Development must be proficient with object-oriented programming on the Salesforce.com and Microsoft ASP.NET platforms, and a solid understanding of design Patterson, data structures, and databases.
Essential Functions
- Enhance, develop, and support existing applications built on the Salesforce.com platform
- Integrate Salesforce.com with other third-party applications
- Enhance, develop, and support existing applications built on the ASP.NET platform
- Lead the technical design, development, and unit testing of applications for all projects
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to identify business requirements and needs
- Manage the software development lifecycle from design to release following an agile methodology
- Participate in the development of the IT roadmap
- Participate in the vendor selection process for resources, software, and SaaS technology and solutions
- Manage the existing code base for the enterprise
- Conduct code reviews with other members of the project team to ensure code quality
- Create technical documentation and update the knowledge base
- Communicate regular project status updates to the Executive Director, Marketing Technology
- A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field- or Equivalent
- 5+ years of related experience is required.
- 5+ years of experience developing in an object-oriented language
- 5+ years of experience developing on the Salesforce.com platform implementing APEX Classes, Test Classes, SOQL,SOSL, Visual Force, Process Builder/Workflows, Sandbox development and Testing
- 5+years of experience developing on the ASP.NET platform, preferably with C#
- 5+ years of experience in a direct managerial and/or team lead role
- Experience with asynchronous APEX and scheduled jobs
- Familiarity with Object-oriented analysis and design patterns using MVC architecture
- Familiarity with SQL/T-SQL and databases, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with web services technologies such as SOAP, WSDL, XML, JSON, REST
- Experience with version control tools such as Git
- Experience with development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio
- Salesforce Certifications a plus
- Hybrid/Flexible Work Arrangement
