The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) seeks an energetic individual for the position of Teaching Professor (all ranks considered) in our Academic and Student Affairs (ASA) freshmen engineering program at the ASU Polytechnic campus.  A minimum of a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or related discipline and evidence of teaching experience in an undergraduate engineering program is required. Teaching experience at the freshmen level is preferred.

At ASU, we are in the process of transforming engineering education.  As a part of this process, we have created a team of engineering education specialists who will utilize best practices to develop and instruct innovative curriculum experiences that can be integrated into existing and new courses early in our engineering programs, and participate in our many academic success programs.  Job duties include teaching Intro to Engineering in fall and spring semesters along with other assigned courses both in person and online; utilize best practices to develop and instruct innovative curriculum experiences that can be integrated into existing and new courses early in our engineering programs; participate in ASA academic success programs; support recruiting and K-12 activities and serve on Fulton and ASA committees.  The successful candidate for this position will have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching that incorporates active learning, will share our passion for engineering education and be will effective in a highly collaborative environment.

Appointments will be made at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or (Full) Teaching Professor commensurate with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments, beginning August 2023.
