Research Assistant Professor (RAP) / Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in the School of Biological



Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP) /Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in the School of Biological Sciences, to commence as soon as possible for two years with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology or other relevant biological disciplines with an excellent publication track record. Experience in conducting and managing scientific research as well as proven expertise in research fields related to the areas/projects mentioned below are required. They should have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with fluency in Chinese highly desirable but not essential, as well as willingness and ability to work and collaborate closely with colleagues in mainland China (mainly in Hangzhou and Xiamen). Those with lesser experience may be considered for appointment as PDF.

The appointees will participate in collaboration projects aimed at identifying and characterizing the mechanisms and factors that control HIV-1 and human cellular gene transcription, as well as during the cellular response to DNA damage. Special focus will be placed on phase-separation mechanisms that affect transcription and DNA damage response, as well as epigenetic control of these processes.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. For RAP, the appointment will result in a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary.
