POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general direction of, and reporting to, the Assistant Director, the Counselor-in-Training Practicum position is responsible for assisting with various components of the Counseling Internship/Practicum Training Program. This position assists in counseling, diagnosing, treatment planning, documentation, programming, and administrative duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Counseling Support
Provides individual and group counseling, crisis intervention and assessment. Completes clinical documentation and clerical paperwork. Provides outreach support and engagement. Attends required supervision meetings and staff meetings. Provides administrative support, which includes but is not limited to, answering phone and email inquiries, and triage duties.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Must be a graduate student in a CACREP accredited Master’s program in Counseling or related field. Must be a student in good academic standing, with the availability of at least 8 or more hours per week.
An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s). Counselor-in-Training License by the Counselor, Social Work, Marriage Family Therapist Board.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge of: mental health counseling, theories, and practices.
Skill in: strong written and verbal communication; organization; customer service; conflict resolution; application of basic software.
Ability to: uphold, enforce, and abide by all institutional policies; develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, students, telephone users, and the general public; maintain confidential and sensitive information; use good judgement; perform complex tasks; prioritize multiple projects; effectively listen; effectively work with persons of varying cultures and diversity; problem solve effectively; work independently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing duties of this job, the intern regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The intern frequently sits for periods of time, stands, and walks. Intern communicates with others in person as well as by telephone or other computer related programs. Intern occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds.

Hybrid office working conditions. The intern is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.
