About the Position:

Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion is committed to the mission of meeting the needs of a multi-cultural, diverse campus community. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Diversity and Equity team as the Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation Administrator (Administrator II). The Division of Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion (HRDI) is driven to excellence and provides a progressive and innovative work environment. The Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (DHR) Administrator should foster and maintain a campus environment free from all forms of discrimination and harassment. Have a positive attitude. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The DHR Administrator is responsible for the University's compliance and investigations associated with the CSU/University DHR compliance efforts. Oversees complaint and investigation process of DHR in accordance with CSU Executive Orders. Coordinates and monitors DHR efforts of other University offices that receive DHR complaints, and other related matters. Provides counsel and responds to inquiries from MPP, faculty, staff, students, and third parties regarding rights and responsibilities under DHR. Supervises Resolution Education Manager which oversees proactive educational programming initiatives such as conflict resolution month, restorative practices, conflict prevention, campus outreach, etc. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a relevant discipline. A minimum of one to two years of demonstrated experience in DHR or related complaints, incident, and/or grievance investigation and resolution. Experience and training regarding conducting sensitive and confidential investigations alleging violations of DHR or related matters. Knowledge of and ability to interpret federal and state laws regarding Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation. Demonstrated ability to deal appropriately with confidential information and exercise good judgment on sensitive matters. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to both be impartial and project impartiality and establish rapport with a diverse range of community members. Demonstrated commitment to diversity. Strong organization and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to prepare complex reports and create effective presentations.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in related field or Juris Doctorate Degree. A minimum of three years of experience in DHR or related matters and/or grievance investigation and resolution. Experience in a higher education setting preferred, public higher education highly preferred.
