Responsibilities
Teacher Education Fieldwork (e.g., MAT, SPED, MACI ) Coordination
- Disseminate student teaching application deadlines, student teaching protocols, etc.
- Communicate fieldwork protocols and deadlines to faculty and students
- Enroll all students into student teaching courses
- Review student teaching applications and identify appropriate placements
- Coordinate student teaching and practicum placements every semester working with all district leaders
- Plan and train all university supervisors on the role and all technology-related programs (e.g., Tevera, TaskStream, Canvas, and GoReact)
- Conduct calibration for all university supervisors and faculty members on the EDA tool as well as the Fieldwork Observation Evaluation Forms
- Plan and coordinate orientation and training for mentor teachers
- Coordinate university supervisor assignments to candidates, assuring that supervisor possesses appropriate credential for candidate assigned
- Collect, analyze, and disseminate student teaching-related data from Tevera/TaskStream (including summative and formative evaluations by mentor teachers and supervisors, evaluations of master teachers and supervisors, etc.) and report to Director of Teacher Education and Director of Assessment/Accreditation.
- Support Director of Teacher Education, university supervisors, and faculty with any student teaching related issues
- Coordinate the Student Teaching and Practicum Orientation for all program pathways including any Professional Development workshops, meetings and student-teaching related events.
- Assist Director of Teacher Education with hiring and oversight of all university supervisors, schedule monthly meetings and collect work logs
- Maintain ongoing communication and supports to mentor teachers
- Develop partnerships with school site mentors and administrators to build capacity; includes visiting district offices in person as needed
- Obtain and maintain district fieldwork and internship MOUs
- Coordinate fieldwork needs with Director of Teacher Education and course instructors for all programs
- Process and track all Practicum and Student Teaching invoices and mentor teacher payments from School Districts (Identify all Mentors, create all Non-POs and send to A/P)
- Train and process Supervisors’ mileage forms and payments
- Attend CTC meetings regarding all fieldwork and credential process
- Participate in ongoing UG and GR advising meetings to present fieldwork and credential expectations
- Attend, present, and provide a recording of fieldwork expectations at New Student Orientation and on Canvas page
- Assign Fieldwork Orientation Course with an assessment to all students in all programs with fieldwork obligations.
- Provides faculty with links to Risk Management fieldwork module for all students interacting with youth during fieldwork
- Verify all enrollment is accurate for student teaching courses
- Lead all communication for the practicum course by connecting with site administrators
- Maintain updates of all Teacher Education handbooks
- Maintain and collect all data in Tevera/TaskStream and verify the uploading of all critical documents, Permission Slips, Fieldwork Logs, IDPs, verifying completing by students and supervisors
- Upload IDP and Fieldwork Logs to ImageNow/Tevera
- Work with the Assessment Office to align all dates and project needs in Tevera/TaskStream and Qualtrics
- Maintain all Student Teaching Dens on Canvas with the most up-to-date information (handbooks, documents, video recordings, and TPA )
- Attend all college and weekly meetings as assigned
- Provide student and faculty services
- Communicate CTC credential requirements and processes to Teacher Education students and provide instructions to students on using CTC system for completing application.
- Work with students to determine whether they have met the appropriate standards and requirements for credential recommendation and ensure that each student enrolled in a credential program receives appropriate information about the requirements of the program in which s/he is enrolled. This includes assessing transcripts.
- Assist students in the application for Certificate of Clearance upon admission.
- Determine eligibility for Teacher Education Fieldwork: TB testing, Live Scan-Fingerprints (via Certificate of Clearance), and Basic Skills requirement; Subject Matter Competency prior to full-time student teaching/teacher residency.
- Review student records and communicate with candidates when files are incomplete.
- Communicate with candidates, advisors, etc. of pertinent deadlines if exam/requirement has not been taken or passed prior to fieldwork placement.
- Conduct workshops and create videos to help students and faculty understand credential rules, regulations, and processes.
- Provide timely updates to students when credential rules, regulations, and/or application process changes.
- Respond to student phone and email questions regarding credentials in a timely manner.
- Respond to faculty phone and email questions regarding credentials or credential requirements in a timely manner.
- Perform credential functions
- Evaluate academic qualifications for the initial, renewal, and appeals of issuance of credentials, certificate, and permits of both in-state and out-of-state candidates.
- Prepare all credential documents for credential candidates and provide necessary documentation to CTC for program approval and subject matter content.

- Strong organizational skills to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines and help students find appropriate field placements and file credential applications

- Advanced degree or professional credential in the educational field (e.g., MA in Education, multiple or single subject teaching credential, special education teaching credential)
- A minimum of three years’ experience in pre-k-12 educational settings
- Working knowledge of State standards and requirements for teaching and service credentials.
- Knowledge of educational practices in California school systems related to the employment of teachers and teaching interns and credentialing process
- Knowledge of video file creation, compressing, transferring and uploading
