Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Employer Outreach and Engagement, works with the FAS Office of Careers Services (OCS) team, providing a breadth of support for events as well as support as part of the First Floor / Reception Team. Events include career fairs, employer sessions, panels, and student interview days. As a member of the First-Floor team, provides rotational reception coverage. May work on special projects for individual OCS units as required.

BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred. Knowledge of student services or Harvard University preferred. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Outstanding communication skills and diplomacy; strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple complex tasks in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining the confidentiality of student records in a fast-paced student services program. Flexibility and professional manner essential; ability to work with a variety of people; must work well both independently and as part of a team. Must be able to function at a high level in a public, shared workspace. Strong computer & web navigation skills essential; ability to provide direct web support to staff and students. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) mandatory. Website editing or other database experience preferred. Familiarity with Symplicity or other career services management system a plus.

Position Description
- Provides support for employer recruiting and campus interviews
including but not limited to: handling logistics for numerous
events in Harvard spaces and at outside venues; coordinating usage
of facilities, services, and venues; assisting with catering and
office orders; acting as primary liaison with units and
stakeholders to ensure smooth day-to-day flow of communications;
overseeing event registrations, details, and attendee lists
utilizing software platforms such as Symplicity.
- Keeps details organized for use by supervisor and other team
members across OCS.
- Trains other staff, student workers, and temps on related
processes and technologies.
- Delivers excellent customer service to various stakeholders and
guests in-person, by phone, and at events.
- Provides coverage for front-desk reception including but not
limited to: greeting all visitors and callers; identifying needs;
assisting in using resources; and referring to appropriate OCS
programs and events.
- Stays informed and up to date of all current OCS programs,
events, and resources. Interprets and carries out office policies.
Assists students and alumni to access and use electronic OCS
resources, including online platforms.
- May work on special projects for individual OCS units,
including Recruiting and Employer Engagement, Advising, Marketing,
IT and Administration teams. Projects include but are not limited
to: data collection; supply organization; job postings; application
intake and processing; and special events coordination.
- Performs a wide range of office administrative support and
other duties as assigned.
- Participates in full range of office-wide events including open
houses, professional development workshops, intra- and
inter-department, and college-wide meetings.
- May oversee work of student workers and temps.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
