The Associate Director of Housing Services manages the on-campus housing process for 3,300 undergraduate residents and an off-campus population of 300. The Associate Director coordinates policies and processes related to key distribution, room inventories, damage assessment, and general communication with the residential and off-campus population.

Reporting to the Director of Housing Services, the Associate Director serves on a team within the Division of Student Affairs including Residential Education, Fraternity & Sorority Affairs and the First-year Experience.

Job Duties:
* Manage the housing assignment process for all on-campus housing (traditional-style halls, suite style, apartment-style, special interest/affinity houses including day-to-day operations).
* Select, train, supervise and evaluate the Assistant Director of Housing position. Provide direction and support for their responsibilities with assignments, off campus housing and student transportation.
* Serve as the primary contact for the Office of Accessibility Resources and work closely with students on housing accommodations.
* Oversee the day-to-day management of the housing software (StarRez), housing occupancy data, student billing and implementing the room selection processes.
* Responsible for building and evaluating the system architecture in housing software (StarRez) for applications, room selection, billing and reporting, applications, learning communities/special interest housing, and reports.
* Coordinate and facilitate communication regarding opening and closing policies and procedures to students and staff and coordinate break registration and notification.
* Partner with Residential Education in educating students about housing policies, organizing chargebacks, and collecting keys.
* Assist in communicating the procedures for proper departure from a housing assignment or separation from the University to the student and appropriate office. This includes key collection, communication of vacancy to possible remaining student(s), etc.
* Direct the coordination of the assignment of campus housing for summer programs, including summer school and research activities.
* Coordinate all aspects of first-year housing assignments and communicate with University-wide colleagues regarding first-year housing.
* Manage student and family communication, phone calls and emails.
* Work with the Director of Housing and Card Access in analyzing complex data to compile into reports, occupancy and budget forecasts, studies and other projects.
* Coordinate and collaborate housing assignments with Fraternity & Sorority Affairs, Residential Colleges and Residential Education.
* Coordinate, communicate, and collaborate efforts on assignment related issues with University partners such as Residential Education, Admissions, International Student Services, Office of Global Education, Athletics, Facilities, Academic Deans, Parent & Family Programs and Dean of Students.
* Oversee the break periods during the academic year including room inspections and documentation.
* Create assessment plan which includes but not limited to reviewing all areas of housing assignments from move-in, check-out and room selection
* Participate in central office responsibilities including, but not limited to: a) Responds to emergencies involving students; b) Participate on professional staff on-call rotation; c) Participate in staff recruitment, selection and training; d) Participate in weekly Housing Services staff meetings; e) Participate as requested in Residence Education and Facilities staff meetings.
* Support the airport shuttle process at the beginning and end of Fall, Thanksgiving and Spring break and at the start and end of semesters.
* Participate in a rotation with the office staff for assisting with departing shuttles. This includes being present at departure, assisting with boarding and contacting those students late for the shuttle.

Department and Divisional Responsibilities:
* Represent the department and Division of Student Affairs by serving on University committees.
* Attend and actively participate in departmental and divisional staff meetings and retreats.
* Represent the department and division at University events including Admissions Open Houses.
* Maintain a high degree of visibility and availability to students, faculty and staff.
* Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
* This position requires a Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Higher Education Administration or related degree.
* Two years of professional (post graduate) related experience.
* Strong commitment to student growth and development.
* Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion with the ability to work collaboratively across cultures and styles at all levels of the organization.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, families, faculty, staff and administrators as well as external agencies/groups and the public.
* Understanding and knowledge of current best practices for student housing in a residential university environment.
* Strong administrative skills and organizational skills including the ability to identify and resolve administrative and student affairs issues.
* Ability to work independently on most elements managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Three years post master's experience.
* Supervision experience.
* Familiarity with StarRez software or other housing solution products

Work Type:
This is a full-time, year round benefits eligible position.

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.

Salary Range:
This is a Staff Exempt position with a hiring range of $52,500 to $65,625. The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
