Professor of Practice - Journalism - (FAC002860)

The Jack J. Valenti School of Communication ( https://www.uh.edu/class/communication/ ) at the University of Houston is seeking applications for a full-time, Professor of Practice for the Journalism program beginning in the Fall of 2023. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in a related discipline with extensive professional experience in journalism,

We are seeking talented candidates who have professional and/or teaching experience in areas such as multimedia journalism, digital story-telling, data reporting and visualization, and emerging story forms like VR/AR and mobile platforms. Strong preference will be given to candidates with substantial expertise in multimedia news reporting that integrates digital and social media storytelling with data visualization.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate journalism classes and theory/criticism courses in a fully developed program in multimedia journalism centering on writing, editing, convergent news production, data visualization, and investigative/civic journalism.
