Summary
University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis is currently seeking an experienced Strength and Conditioning Coach to begin immediately. In this position, you will be responsible for the design, supervision and instruction of group and individual strength and conditioning programs for all sport programs at the University. This includes instruction to student-athletes on how to use equipment and perform exercises properly, maintenance of strength and conditioning equipment, development and distribution of nutritional information to student-athletes, communication with coaches regarding strength and conditioning programs and the status of student-athlete performance, coordination of student-athlete rehabilitation with athletic training staff, assist with rehabilitation of injured student athletes, training and supervision of weight room staff, and maintenance of schedule for workout times for each sport program.


Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • At least a bachelors degree in physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, health science, or a related field; masters degree preferred
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification or equivalent from an accredited association
  • Minimum of two years strength and conditioning coaching experience at the collegiate level or professional strength and conditioning environment, performance and teaching weightlifting, metabolic conditioning, and injury rehabilitation exercises
  • First aid, AED, and CPR certified
  • Ability to explain training methods, direct athletes on proper form and use of equipment
  • Skill in directing athletic workouts and motivating output
  • Knowledge of the design of strength and conditioning programs
  • Knowledge of kinesiology, biomechanics, and strength and conditioning training methods and program design
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include early morning, later evenings, and weekends
  • Physically must be able to bend, stoop, carry, and lift at least 50 lbs., stand for extended periods of time, demonstrate skills, correct form, and serve as a spotter when required (which includes physical mobility and personal strength)
