Project Coordinator Center for Health Policy and Law, School of Law

About the Opportunity

The Center for Health Policy and Law (CHPL) at Northeastern University School of Law is seeking a project coordinator. The project coordinator will support the team and work of https://www.saluspopulisdoh.com/">Salus Populi, an initiative that trains judges and lawyers about the social determinants of health (SDOH), population health, health equity, and the law.

The project coordinator will work under the supervision of the CHPL managing director and in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary project team, which includes faculty and staff from CHPL and the Institute for Health Equity and Social Justice Research. The project coordinator will be the liaison between the Center, Law School and Institute.

The project coordinator will be responsible for administrative, communications, financial, logistical, and programmatic elements of the project. Examples include: ensuring project deadlines and deliverables are met; tracking project timelines and action items; assisting with program attendee and speaker logistics and travel; communicating with judicial and legal contacts; drafting communications, such as emails, social media posts, and other outreach materials; monitoring the project budget; and helping with website updates. The project coordinator will also assist in budget planning, tracking and reporting, and support in fundraising.

Responsibilities:

Administrative Support

Includes budget monitoring, file maintenance, meeting agendas and notes, website updates, team and stakeholder communication and time tracking; and monitoring of staff, and students hiring and timekeeping.

Programmatic Support

Includes tracking project activities and deliverables; event planning; speaker and attendee outreach and logistics support; applying for attendee CLE credits; and social media and website updates.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate previous experience running or managing projects; strong time-management and communication skills; ability to prioritize both routine and high-level tasks and demands; collaborate with an interdisciplinary team; plan and coordinate events and program logistics; maintain and disseminate information in an accessible and organized manner; and approach problem-solving with agility and professionalism. Strong professional and interpersonal skills are key for this role; individual must be able to effectively engage and communicate with professionals (e.g., judges, lawyers, scholars). Must be able to take initiative and follow through on tasks in an independent and timely manner. Should demonstrate the ability to be adaptable and flexible as additional administrative and programmatic tasks arise. Must demonstrate verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of social media.

Preferred Qualifications:. Knowledge of or a strong interest in law, public health and/or health equity is a plus, but not required. Familiarity with Microsoft products (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Teams) is strongly preferred.
