University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary

Temporary, part time, position through 9/30/2023.

Salary: $18.00 to $26.00 per hour

Location: Colton, CA

Work Schedule

Up to 19 hours per week. Schedule to be arranged, but typically, Monday-Friday within the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Some nights, weekend work may be required.

Typical Activities

Under general supervision of the Program Director of the Women's Business Center Program.

Incumbent will perform a full range of technical, programmatic, administrative, advanced clerical, and routine staff and analytical duties; assume ongoing programmatic duties and responsibilities specific to area of assignment; provide technical support and specialized program information and assistance to assigned administrator, staff, and students; and participate in coordinating assigned programs, projects, and services, requiring self-sufficiency and a clear understanding of the parameters of the programs and services of the center, as well as the understanding of when to delegate responsibility and to whom.

Incumbent will serve as primary liaison and resource for assigned functions and programs with staff, interns, volunteers, and the general public and act as resource for communication of information either in person or by telephone regarding knowledge of programs, policies, and procedures as needed, including in the Latina community.

Incumbent will conduct studies and research for center, and will participate in the preparation and distribution of narrative, statistical and financial data, recommendations and reports.

Incumbent will verify and review materials, applications, records and reports for accuracy, totality, and conformance with procedures, processing appropriate information, applications, and forms.

Incumbent will provide technical assistance in person, by telephone or Zoom conference, including business counseling and training in specific areas, and overall community outreach, including to the Latina community.

Incumbent will plan and organize program functions as well as administrative office support functions, coordinating, overseeing, and evaluating the workflow to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Incumbent will participate in the orientation and training of new employees, will assign, schedule, train, and provide work direction to lower-level staff and student workers, will prioritize work assignments and review and validate completed work for accuracy.

Incumbent will prepare and proofread a variety of reports, letters, correspondence, and other documents according to established procedures.

Incumbent is responsible for creation of bi-monthly e-newsletter, flyers and other promotional materials.

Some travel between sites may be required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Two (2) years' experience in one or more of the following fields: training, marketing or counseling services for small businesses or two (2) years' experience of lead program coordination in a similar business environment.
  • Proficiency working with computers, digital communications, and popular software packages.
  • A working knowledge of database reporting and the ability to create, format, and revise data materials, brochures, and documents is required.
  • Continued maintenance of website with events, graphics, and program-related material is required.
  • Utilization of technology in performance of duties is required, including maintenance of assigned calendars, schedules, appointments, meeting and activity coordination with staff and programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to clearly, accurately, and effectively relay information to all stakeholders, staff and volunteers.
  • Strong ability to work independently and take initiative.

Additional Qualifications:

Applicants must be computer literate and have good typing skills. Ability to conduct web-based research, use Social Media effectively, and proficiency in the latest versions of Microsoft Office Suite is required. Applicants must be sensitive to the needs of a diverse client base.
