Founded in 1975, Grenfell Campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador – located in the City of Corner Brook, the largest community in western Newfoundland - has gained a strong reputation for high quality education across its four academic Schools: Arts and Social Science, Fine Arts, Science and the Environment, and the Western Regional School of Nursing. Grenfell Campus seeks a visionary and collegial individual for the position of Vice-President (Grenfell Campus), a leader who will focus on strategies to move the institution forward and strengthen its commitment to the region and province, with an emphasis on building partnerships, increasing community engagement, and fostering a student-centered educational experience. A member of Memorial’s executive team and Grenfell Campus’s chief ambassador, and reporting to the President and Vice-Chancellor, the Vice-President (Grenfell Campus) oversees all operations of the campus, and works collaboratively with senior administrative, academic, and student leaders at the campus, across Memorial University, and with the broader community to realize the vision and mission for Grenfell Campus’s future and accomplish the goals set out in its Committing to Communities – Strategic Plan 2020-25.

As an experienced and effective university administrative leader, eligible for a tenured academic appointment at Memorial University, the successful candidate will foster excellence and innovation in research, teaching, learning, and public engagement within a multi-campus environment. Candidates will possess good communication and partnership building skills, respect for the principles of collegial governance, and demonstrated leadership in advocating for and advancing institutional equity, diversity, inclusion, Indigenization and anti-racism goals. The new Vice-President (Grenfell Campus) will embrace Grenfell Campus’s culture, perform the position with passion and a commitment to continued success, and exhibit integrity, sound judgement, resourcefulness, optimism, and confidence.

The appointment, which is renewable, is for five years and is to take effect at the earliest mutually agreeable opportunity.
