Job Summary/Basic Function
The Athletics Coordinator of Development is responsible for development-related programs. This may include Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Fundraising, Corporate and Foundation Relations, and/or Stewardship.
The Athletics Coordinator of Development will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospective donors for the Central State University Department of Athletics. This position will cultivate relationships with new individuals, corporations, and foundations in support of the fundraising efforts of the Central State University Athletics Department. The primary focus will be on relationship cultivation through in-person donor visits and visits with previously unsolicited prospective donors. Typically solicits gifts including current gifts, pledges, and planned gifts. Independently prioritizes tasks set in consultation with supervisors. The Coordinator will work closely with the Department of Institutional Advancement to coordinate and collaborate in order to maximize gift potential for Central State University Athletics. This position will be responsible for monthly revenue and productivity goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in athletics
A successful candidate will be self-motivated and results oriented
Demonstrate ability to effectively develop and manage a portfolio of donors and donor prospects
Superb oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills while maintaining a positive attitude
Ability to use personal computer for word processing and to use other standard software packages
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
