Context of job:

The Psychologist will contribute to leading a multi-year grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education that will integrate and evaluate State-wide, cross-University efforts to advance school mental health service provider recruitment, preparation, practice, and retention in high-need schools across Delaware. Concurrently, this project will target the adoption and sustained use of inclusive practices and equity-focused data-based decision-making within multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) in Delaware schools.

The Psychologist will play key roles in (a) supervising school psychology graduate students in traineeships related to public outreach, direct service delivery, indirect service delivery, and applied research, respectively; (b) collaborating with personnel from the University of Delaware Center for Disabilities Studies (CDS) to direct MTSS training, technical assistance, and coaching to Delaware schools; and (c) facilitating project administration, evaluation, and dissemination activities. Supervision, consultation, and project management activities are performed by the Psychologist under the guidance of the Project Director. Major responsibilities:

• Build and maintain professional relationships with project partners across University training programs and centers, school districts, State education agencies, and community/clinical service agencies.
• Train and supervise graduate students in delivering presentations and trainings, providing mental health services in schools, consulting with school personnel and teams, and conducting applied research.
• Direct efforts to raise awareness of school-based provider professions in high school and undergraduate settings.
• Coordinate with University center partners to support district-level MTSS coaches.
• Plan and facilitate training webinars and summer conferences.
• Manage and analyze data related to graduate program, local education agency, and State outcomes.
• Prepare resources and reports to share with lay and professional audiences.
• Coordinate program reports for submission to grant authority.
• Contribute to disseminating project results through publications and professional conference presentations.
• Integrate project activities with other state and local education and health initiatives.
• Collaborate with key project personnel to oversee project budget and activities.

Qualifications:

• Educational specialist or doctoral degree in school psychology, from a school psychology program approved by NASP and/or accredited by APA.
• Certified school psychologist in state of Delaware (or certification eligible).
• Licensed psychologist in state of Delaware (or license eligible) preferred.
• Experience in partnering with State or local education agencies to promote school and community outcomes.
• Knowledge and professional experience related to school-based prevention, mental health service delivery, systems integration, and implementation science.
• Understanding of FERPA and state of Delaware Child Abuse Reporting law.
• Commitment to advancing inclusiveness and equity in all aspects of work.
• Experience in providing supervision to school psychology trainees preferred.
• Experience in (a) developing and delivering professional development trainings and (b) providing technical assistance related to MTSS preferred.
• Demonstrates an understanding and consideration of the differing needs and concerns of individuals with varying identities, cultures, and backgrounds.
