Description:
The Office of Facilities Management at Pratt Institute is searching for an Assistant Manager of Dormitory Maintenance and Operations to provide operational support and assist the Manager of Dormitory Maintenance and Operations in administering Custodial, Handyman, Mechanics, Housekeeping, and Grounds assignments, including monitoring maintenance issues, sanitation and snow removal, building inspections, problem resolution, and emergency maintenance repairs.

Our ideal candidate is an organized individual with 5 years of Facilities Management Custodial and Maintenance services, who possess strong planning, problem-solving and can demonstrate the ability to motivate and keep staff accountable.

On a typical day you will be required to:

  • Assists the Manager of Dormitory Maintenance and Operations to assure all work tasks are completed in a timely manner

  • Communicates and coordinates with Residential Life and Housing Directors and Assistants any preventative maintenance and facility work order requests, provides updates and shares concerns

  • Dormitory Building Inspections - Identifies areas of concern, reports any issues and needs for repairs to the Manager of Dormitory Maintenance & Operations

  • Supervises janitorial and maintenance daily routines for dormitory staff

  • Ensures all public areas inside and outside student housing buildings are maintained in a clean and safe living environment.



Salary Range: $58,500 - $65,000 + Generous Benefits


Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or at least five years equivalent field experience.

Experience: At least five years of relevant experience in Facilities Management Custodial and Maintenance services, or equivalent field.

Skills:
  • Knowledge of and ability to use and train on all required cleaning and maintenance equipment including complex machinery (buffers, vacuums, carpet cleaners, extractors, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in maintenance of building and ground operations, general record keeping, cleaning and chemical solvents, scheduling and training procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, multilingual is preferred, but not required.
