Reporting to the Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) Associate Director for Student Learning Support and the Office of Accessibility Resources (OAR) Director, this individual will deliver learning assistance to students through personalized programs of academic self-improvement developed during individual coaching consultations, with a particular emphasis on students registered with the OAR and executive functioning skills. The Academic Coach will be responsible for working one-on-one with students seeking strategies and support to reach their personal academic goals, partnering with others on campus to support student success, and other relevant duties to support the OAR or TLC. The person in this role must be highly motivated, responsible, reliable, and have excellent communication and cross-cultural skills.
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, 10-month position beginning August 1 and ending May 31. This position has the possibility of some remote or hybrid work to be scheduled flexibly.

Job Duties:
● Apply knowledge and experience related to executive functioning to provide individual coaching sessions to students seeking support for personal academic goals, with a particular emphasis on students registered with the OAR.
● Summarize and communicate coaching session details in writing following student meetings.
● Refer students to additional resources and support, or build additional resources or systems of support with students as appropriate.
● Provide strategic support and educational opportunities about working with neurodiverse students to other support campus partners (faculty, staff, counselors, etc).
● Create and execute systems of intentionally inclusive outreach to students and partners.
● Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications:
● Master's degree in a related field required (Psychology, Counseling, Special Education, other Education degrees related to learners, or similar).
● At least two years teaching, coaching, advising, and/or counseling students on executive functioning skills and strategies, regardless of degree.
● Demonstrated commitment to inclusion (antiracism and neurodiversity, etc) and experience working with or serving a diverse student body.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills.
● Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and excellent organizational skills.
● Ability to handle confidential information on a routine basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
● Training or certification related to Executive Functioning or specific learning disabilities
● General knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
● Understanding of the differences between K-12 and higher education accommodations.
● Experience with the Co-Active coaching model or a related format.
● Experience with and knowledge of best practices in student learning
Work Type:
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, 10-month position beginning August 1 and ending May 31. This position has the possibility of some remote or hybrid work to be scheduled flexibly.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
Salary Range:
This is a position with a hiring range of $39,120 to $48,900 (E05). The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
