Under the supervision of the Chief of Staff, the Success Officer – Student Success and Internal Initiatives will manage a multi-faceted portfolio advancing internal initiatives and projects aimed at transforming student retention, persistence, and degree completion outcomes at Texas Southern University. The incumbent will work closely with academic and student support colleagues to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for holistic student success. Additionally, the Success Officer – Student Success and Internal Initiatives will proactivity identify and drive innovative solutions that strengthen the institution’s profile and impact as the premiere producer of diverse talent in the state of Texas.

Essential Duties Summary
- Serve as a thought leader, champion, and catalyst for student success and positive organizational change.
- Assist students with navigating academic and non-academic resources provided at the University and in the online/remote learning community.
- Participate in programs and activities related to enrollment, orientation, and other student success initiatives.
- Leverage data from organizational health assessments and other sources to guide practice and transformation activities.
- Coordinate impact analysis activities, change management assessments, and other evaluations.
- Promote a culture of learning and development to improve process outcomes and long-term sustainability.
- Actively seek to influence, build collaborative relationships, and gain alignment with peers, functional partners, and other stakeholders to accomplish objectives.
- Promote a positive image of the University by representing the institution in community, state, and regional activities.
- Provide tactical support to implement ideas and communicate progress towards goals.
