Utah Valley University is currently seeking a Web Applications Manager! The Application Manager manages and coordinates the day-to-day operations of web applications, mobile applications, and systems for Web & Mobile Solutions. Assists in the development, support, and enforcement of campus web application and technology standards. Mentors, manages, and trains new and existing employees.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Manages and coordinates the day-to-day operations of web applications and systems in WMS. This includes working with individuals across campus and helping them with their web needs in creating and maintaining web pages, sites, and systems. Coordinates the development of applications, systems, technologies, processes for the campus web community. Leads development of university mobile applications. Maintains systems like Siteimprove, Google Analytics, Adobe Sign, Maps, etc. Works with core WMS team to find new technologies and develop processes for them as well as existing systems/technologies.
  • Defines specifications for web projects with departments across campus. Oversees the development of websites for several departments. Leading the team of Web Developers in development and holding regular meetings with them. Offering system solutions and web-based applications for clients while fitting university standards. Collaborates on campus web needs with WMS team and leadership to determine priorities. Develops, maintains, and enforces campus-wide policies and procedures for WMS.
  • Mentors and trains new and existing employees on systems, code, and web best practices.


  • Minimum Qualifications

    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years' experience related to the Summary of Duties or a combination of education and/or experience totaling six years.

    Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

    Knowledge
  • Knowledge of web architecture and strategy in a large, diverse organization.
  • Knowledge of various web design and implementation technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, XML, XSLT, etc.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages and libraries such as jQuery, CSS grid, Flex Box, etc.
  • Knowledge of web frameworks such as Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.
  • Knowledge of mobile and responsive design methodologies, practices, and implementations.
  • Knowledge of project management and task management in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of web application software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, analytics software, heat mapping software, online maps, google tools, form solutions, ecommerce systems, etc.
  • Knowledge of team management practices including training, mentoring, coaching, etc.
  • Knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft Office, internet browsers, email systems and other general applications.
