Minimum Qualifications:
Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) has an opening for a faculty position in the Masters of Social Work Program, which is housed in the School of Social Work. The applicant must possess the MSW degree from an accredited program and a Ph.D. in social work or a related discipline. The applicant must have at least five years of teaching experience in the discipline of social work and at least two years of social work practice, post the MSW.
Desired/ Preferred Qualifications:
This is a 9- month visiting assistant professor position, which requires teaching 9 credit hours per semester. The applicant will teach primarily research courses and expect to coordinate research activities with students. The applicant is expected to pursue grant writing and community engagement. This position requires knowledge of the CSWE guidelines and expectations. This applicant is expected to participate in professional organizations and associations.
Finalists for this position are subject to a background check. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history and identity check.
