POSITION: INSTRUCTOR OF CHEMISTRY (NON-TENURE TRACK)

SALARY AND RANK: COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE

DEPARTMENT: NATURAL SCIENCES AND MATHEMATICS

DIVISION: COLLEGE OF STEM

OPEN DATE: FEBRUARY 20, 2023 - REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS WILL BEGIN IMMEDIATELY AND CONTINUE UNTIL POSITION IS FILLED.

CLOSING DATE:  APRIL 6, 2023

This academic year non-tenure-track appointment begins in August 2023. Renewal for the subsequent academic years or transition to a tenure-track position is possible.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory chemistry and non­majors science courses. Other responsibilities include research, professional activity, and service to both the University and community. Involving students in research activities is highly desirable. The faculty member will be required to evaluate and use current technology in courses and to maintain a positive educational relationship with students and colleagues. Other duties include academic advising, curriculum development, and committee service and performing other duties required to meet organizational needs.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree or higher in chemistry or biochemistry with documented proof of expertise; a Doctorate is preferred. Course development and curriculum design experience as well as evidence of a commitment to working with under-prepared students are also desirable. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach with technology. Effective collaboration and interpersonal skills are also desirable.

Finalists for this position are subject to a background check. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history and identity check.
