The Indiana University-Bloomington School of Education and the Kinsey Institute invite applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position with a joint appointment in the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology (CEP) and the Kinsey Institute. This is an open-rank search with a preference for applicants at the associate or full professor level whose research expertise is at the intersection of counseling/clinical/community psychology and sexual health. We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in adolescent sexual health and candidates that are licensed (or license-eligible) to practice psychology. Candidates with sophisticated research skills, experience with funded research projects, and interest in collaborating with colleagues within and outside of the department and institute are highly desirable.

As a tenured/tenure track faculty member, it is expected that the successful candidate will pursue an active research agenda, seek extramural grant funding, teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, mentor diverse graduate students, and serve as an active member of the School of Education, the Kinsey Institute, and the University.

Interested candidates should possess the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • A doctorate in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, or related fields. Candidates must have an earned doctorate at the time of application.
  • A strong publication record.
  • A strong background in quantitative, qualitative, or mixed research methodologies.
  • A research focus at the intersection of counseling/clinical/community psychology and sexual health.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated history of or strong potential for extramurally funded research.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Experience leading a research team and mentoring graduate student research.
  • A doctorate from an APA-accredited Counseling or Clinical Psychology Program, predoctoral internship from an APA-accredited setting, and a licensed (or license-eligible) to practice as a psychologist in Indiana.
  • A research program focused on adolescent sexual health.

This is a 10‐month appointment with a preferred start date of August 1, 2023. Review of applications will begin immediately. Applications received by March 1, 2023 will be assured full consideration; however, the search will remain open until the position is filled.

Before a conditional offer of employment with tenure is finalized, candidates will be asked to disclose any pending investigations or previous findings of sexual or professional misconduct. They will also be required to authorize an inquiry by Indiana University Bloomington with all current and former employers along these lines. The relevance of information disclosed or ascertained in the context of this process to a candidate’s eligibility for hire will be evaluated by Indiana University Bloomington on a case-by-case basis. Applicants should be aware, however, that Indiana University Bloomington takes the matters of sexual and professional misconduct very seriously.

Candidates should apply online at https://indiana.peopleadmin.com/postings/16477 and submit the following:

  1. Curriculum Vitae
  2. Letter of Application
  3. Diversity/social justice statement
  4. The names and contact information for three references (we will not contact references without checking with the applicant first)
