Job Description:
Responsible for oversight, direction and management of the following AHC operational functions:
Academic Health Center/Office of the Senior Vice President, Health Affairs Facilities Operations Director and Space Management:
- Responsible for overall oversight, direction and daily
operational management of major AHC facilities.
- Coordination amongst SVPHA, AHC Deans and UF Facilities
Planning and Construction Assistant Vice President and UF Physical
Plant Division Director to insure continued facility operations and
continuity of business operations.
- Executive management and direct oversight of UF Research and
Academic Center at Lake Nona including management of
multimillion-dollar facility and multimillion-dollar budget to
operate the facility.
- Serve as designated AHC/SVPHA representative /liaison for AHC
facility-oriented projects such as building infrastructure,
technical enhancements, various renovations, and way finding
programs. Works with various stakeholders to assure timely and
accurate completion of such projects.
- Provide direction and guidance to staff to support building
operations and continuity of mission.
- Provide space analysis and plans to the Senior Vice President
on space assignments between the AHC colleges and support units,
swing space, faculty recruitments and vacated space.
Health Science Center Emergency Management/ Disaster Planning: - Serve as AHC primary point-of-contact with Environment, Health
& Safety (EH&S) and the University Police
Department.
- Serve as the AHC's representative on the University of
Florida's “Emergency Operations Team” which serves to coordinate
emergency response before/during/post incident.
- Serve as the AHC's representative on the University of
Florida's “Disaster Planning Committee” which serves to provide
policy approve for the University's Emergency Planning
efforts.
Serve as the primary alternate liaison on the University of Florida's “Policy Group” for emergency response and planning.
Security: - Responsible for formulating, developing, planning and managing
the AHC's comprehensive security plan by participating in short and
long-range planning and goal setting initiatives.
- Serves as the AHC's primary point-of-contact regarding
AHC/Shands/College of Medicine security contract with University
Police Department.
- Reviews and analyzes financial data and participates in the
preparation of the AHC's annual security fiscal budget.
- Participates as a member of the AHC/UPD Security Council and
represents AHC interests.
Additional Administrative Duties: - Asset Management/Space Management/Key Control - manages asset
and space accountability for SVPHA as designated Accountable Office
and Space Reporting manager; Maintains key accountability for
SVPHA.
- Sustainability - coordinates and manages sustainability efforts
in the AHC.
- Serve on various University of Florida Committees as assigned
as representative of the Senior Vice President and the Academic
Health Center.
Expected Salary:
$125,000 - $130,000, commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with university, college and administrative representatives;
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders of major projects to work efficiently and effectively to complete projects timely, accurately, and within budget;
- Ability to work independently;
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
- Experience preparing, producing and presenting reports;
- Experience collecting, evaluating and analyzing data;
- Knowledge of administrative principles and practices;
- Knowledge of state of Florida and University of Florida regulations and policies.
