Visiting Professor, Public History:

The History Department of Rowan University is a seeking specialist in U.S. public history to fill a temporary non-tenure track visiting professor position beginning in the fall of 2023. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. and evidence of effective college teaching. In addition, candidates should have demonstrated experience in three of the following areas: writing grants at the local, state, and federal levels; directing historic preservation projects in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties; overseeing historic site management (including interpretation, education, exhibitions, and programming); supervising historic site volunteers/docent program; guiding student interns in the classroom and at historic sites, and teaching introductory as well as advanced undergraduate classes in the public history and material culture of the United States.
