University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary

Temporary, part time, non benefitted position through 12/31/2022 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).

Salary: $18-$35 per hour.

Locations: Riverside, Ontario, Temecula, Montclair, and San Bernardino

Program Summary: Part-time position reports to the IESBDC Director and will coordinate and market small business training events, assist in program development, manage training and client databases, and provide program reporting. Inland Empire SBDC training program encompasses approximately 120 events each calendar year. Training events are held remotely and in person at SBDC offices in Riverside, Ontario, and at nine outreach offices in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.

Work Schedule

Up to 19 hours per week. Schedule to be arranged, but typically, Monday-Friday within the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm though some nights, weekend work may be required.

Typical Activities

Under minimal supervision of the Director, the Training Coordinator will work independently to:
  • Work with Business Consultants to plan and coordinate all training events held by the IESBDC. Provide support to special programs, such as the SBA Awards Luncheon, SBA Lenders Breakfast and other events. Position includes compilation, promotion, and tracking of monthly, quarterly, and annual training events.
  • Set up Zoom and GoTo meeting training conferencing .
  • Market SBDC training programs to the local business and civic community, to include, but not limited to the following methods: direct mail, networking, public relations and press releases, public speaking, and Internet.
  • Produce marketing materials for events, to include flyers and brochures.
  • Assist staff and pro bono business consultants in the development of training programs and materials. Secure guest speakers for events.
  • Interface with training program participants to include taking attendee registrations, making confirmation calls, follow up with surveys, and provide superior customer service.
  • Prepare all required paperwork and forms for seminars. Provide all program reporting and maintain training and client databases. Reports to include survey data, government mandated reports, and financial reports for training events.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: Familiarity with the business training, event coordination, Zoom, social media marketing and SBDC program are pluses.
  • Other: Required computer skills to perform job, include Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Windows, Constant Contact, Canva, ZOOM, GOTO meeting, social media. Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal skills, and telephone etiquette. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to give public presentations. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Knowledge of basic small business principles and ability to recruit and prepare volunteer presenters is important.   • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related discipline desired but not required.
