The Marketing Assistant is responsible for assisting supporting the office of Marketing and Communications office at the UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. The key roles are: Administrative support, College outreach even logistical support, Junior Design and production support, merchandizing support, project coordination, invoice and payment support, and act as receptionist for the MARCOM office.

The tasks and responsibilities under these roles include, but are not limited to, managing the Director of MARCOM's calendar and alerting MARCOM staff of important meetings. Upkeep of the college's event calendar on college's event webpage. Attend the Development office's events meeting and coordinate To Do's and materials needed to order on behalf of MARCOM. Produce outdoor signages for events and make regular updates and corrections of college online/printed materials including producing simple images (photography and Adobe design). Open and close MARCOM projects on the Basecamp platform. Source and recommend appropriate souvenir and College merchandise items (swags). Facilitate quotes, approvals and payments on behalf of College MARCOM office. Represent the office of MARCOM to receive and assist visitors at the office, telephone and on virtual meetings and engagements (Zoom and emails). Mange and procure relevant stationary and materials on behalf of Office of MARCOM. Source, liaise production and place outdoor and indoor branded banners at college events.

Expected Salary:

$15.00 -$20.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or an associate's degree and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with overall office administration.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Wordpress, and entire Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Basecamp, Adobe Suite.
  • Proven success in customer service.
  • Experience in working in higher education.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Experience in alumni relations and advancement communication.
  • Excellent communicator and team player.
