Position Summary:
Administrative, supervision, and/or advisement of the following student development areas:
1) Student Government Association (SGA)
2) Registered Student Organizations (RSOs)
This position reports to the Associate Dean/Director Leadership Center and has a high degree of independence to make decisions regarding issues of policy and procedure, administrative, programmatic, and budgetary matters within the scope of the position
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with Student Government Association to Plan Campus Events and Programs
- Work to Ensure Students Realize Their Rights to Influence Academic and Other Policies on Campus
- Consult with Student Staff and Senators to Actively Seek Collaborative Opportunities with Other Departments, Internal and External
- Attend all SGA Meetings and Provide Advisement to SGA Board of Directors
- Seek Student Feedback to Formulate Goals and Objectives and Evaluate Student Initiatives
- Consult with Students on an Individual Basis to Improve Leadership Abilities
- Present Workshops, Training Sessions, Retreats on Programming and Leadership
- Promote Student Involvement to Encourage Recruitment and Retention of Students
- Supervise Contractual Arrangements
- Evaluate Risk Management, Safety Issues
- Fiscal Management including Oversight of SGA Account, Facilitation of Budgeting Process to Provide Transparency to Student Leaders, and Approval of Expenditures and Payments
- Coordinate Travel Arrangements to Conferences and Student Events
- Oversight of Registered Student Organizations (RSO)
- Communicate Regularly with RSO Presidents and Advisors
- Encourage Diversity in the Selection of Leadership Teams
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of student activities programming, student leadership development skills, organizational management, research skills, counseling skills, understanding of higher education administration, personnel and fiscal management, supervision of part-time and volunteer staff, multicultural and diversity sensitivity, high ethical standards
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance
Travel to conferences and training sessions is required
Evening and weekend hours are necessary to successfully perform all job responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Master’s preferred
Two (2) years of experience in leadership programming, student activities or related area are required
