Job Description
The Assistant Professor in this position will be using molecular, cellular, or systems approaches to address fundamental questions relevant to the nervous system. This faculty member’s research will complement or extend existing basic science and translational research interests in the Department of Neurosciences, including synaptic physiology, neural development, plasticity of adult human cortex, intraneuronal signaling and trafficking, and mechanisms of neurological disorders. This position also entails training medical, graduate and undergraduate students including teaching courses in the biomedical sciences graduate program.
The Assistant Professor will perform bioinformatics analyses on laboratory and archival data and laboratory procedures, including laser capture microdissection. Other responsibilities include write grants and papers, supervise and advise students and other trainees and provide formal lectures and content for graduate courses.
Requirements
PhD or foreign equivalent in Biology, Bioinformatics, Neuroinformatic or related field and 4 years of experience in postdoctoral research and training.
