Job Description:
The Emerging Pathogens Institute at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Scientist to serve as Program Director for the Southeastern Coastal Center for Agricultural Health and Safety (SCCAHS). This position requires the candidate to work independently as a scientist while providing leadership and oversight to various faculty investigators in SCCAHS Cores. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in occupational health research, specifically in the areas of outreach, worker safety/health, and psychosocial aspects of disease and disaster, and a demonstrated track record in the development of impactful solutions for affected communities, particularly in urban, rural and coast, populations of the South.

Commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate with have a minimum of a master's degree in public health or a related field and 7 years of experience in public health and transdisciplinary occupational health research.

The candidate will have a strong track record of working collaboratively leading to peer-reviewed publications, presentations at scientific conferences and extramural funding applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in occupational health and safety research with a focus on heat stress, renal and respiratory diseases, and population surveillance.

Up-to-date knowledge of federal programs, initiatives, and regulations designed to monitor and improve quality of care for adults and children in public insurance programs.
