Job Summary/Basic Function:
Reporting to the Director of Research & Instruction, the Instruction & Assessment Librarian facilitates the use of information in research, teaching, and learning through collaborative relationships with faculty and peers. The R&I department is working to transition its approach to instruction to create more equitable, student-centered, and integrated learning experiences for students. This librarian will spearhead a collaborative effort to define learning experiences and assessments for information literacy throughout the major curriculums, as well as other library services. The librarian may teach in a variety of modalities: one-shots, embedded, video recordings, asynchronous learning modules, student consultations, etc. This position will play a central role in several projects focused on representation and equity in collections and teaching. The position also acts as a point of contact for faculty and collection development in the Social Sciences Division of the college.

Minimum Qualifications:
- MLS from an ALA -accredited institution
- 3-5 years experience teaching in an academic setting
- Broad knowledge of approaches to teaching in academic libraries, experimentation with a variety of pedagogies
- Understanding of basic instructional design and assessment principles
- Demonstrated commitment to incorporating inclusive pedagogies
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies independently
- Familiarity with research design, data collection and analysis methods
- Experience providing reference interviews and consultations
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and manage change among faculty
- Bachelor’s in a social science field
- Experience with LibGuides, Articulate, Zoom, Wordpress a plus
