Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates transcripts (High School, UG, and Grad), prior learning documents, and educational credentials to determine US equivalent GPA and acceptable transfer credit.
  • Prepares evaluation and transfer articulation reports for all international students.
  • Articulates transfer credits and enters GPA in student account on the banner.
  • Serves as Designated School Official/ Alternate Responsible Officer.
  • Prepares admission packages and certificates of eligibility (I-20/ DS2019) for students to obtain the appropriate visa.
  • Archives all admission documents after the I-20/ DS2019 is mailed/shipped.
  • Accesses and enters computer data into appropriate software in regards to student records.
  • Offers Visa related advice to all students, faculty, and staff.
  • Files daily documents and updates student educational records.
  • Assists in completing office projects, i.e., maintaining OGI websites and social media platforms, representing OGI at University events, Orientation, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the international admissions process
  • Knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations ( CFR ) in regards to F-1
  • Knowledge of SEVIS protocol and procedures; knowledge of immigration issues, procedures, concerns, tips, and practices
  • Knowledge of university practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of acceptable advising techniques
  • Good interpersonal skills, particularly with non-native speakers of English; good written communication skills
  • Problem-solving/analysis skills
  • Oral communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and respond to multiple competing demands
  • Ability to process, review, and evaluate student documents
  • Ability to use a computer and relevant software applications, including the Banner® Student Information System
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in work related to student services.

Candidate must meet Homeland Security requirements to serve as Designated School Official/Alternate Responsible Officer
