Job Description

Under the supervision of the Associate Director, the Admission Functional Business Analyst focuses on the management of the Admissions Information Systems including setup, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and development of functional area specifications, interfaces and functionality. Work closely with developers and vendors to prepare annual data layout changes and assess and implement new functionality for admission systems. Create and manage test accounts.

Responsible for testing interfaces and ensuring accuracy of all data passed between systems. This may require use of specialized knowledge of data and file layouts. The role will work closely with the admission’s notification team on yearly letter setup and maintenance. They will also process security requests for the various Admission systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, business, management, or a related discipline and at least 3 years of relevant business experience are required.

Job Specific Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Slate and Peoplesoft preferred.
  • Ability to work as an integral member within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and partner with various levels of management and staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • HTML and CSS programing, JavaScript, and Cold fusion knowledge is desired.
Responsibilities

Handles system troubleshooting, system maintenance, and technical collaborations with colleagues in and outside of the Office of Admissions, including:
  • Works with appropriate campus personnel to resolve issues with data and individual student records as needed.
  • Serves as a liaison between the technical staff and end-user staff.
  • Develops and maintains all security roles and permissions in the admission information systems.
  • Requests and assigns security for staff and/or faculty.
  • Works closely with CRM Administrator to coordinate systems.
  • Acts as escalation point to communicate urgent and/or complex issues to Slate or ITS team and manages user expectations.
Explore and test new functionality delivered by Slate and/or PeopleSoft as well as test regular updates and upgrades impacting feeds to SIS .

Assists with maintaining quality assurance and control, including inactivating unneeded prompts/fields/activities/interactions, and managing annual cycle preparation.

Prepare each year for data layout changes as well as added functionality to the Common Application Member Page. Create test accounts to exercise all options of the Common Application and Member Page to verify that the correct options are displayed. Maintain admission’s notifications yearly setup and maintenance.

Research and locate missing materials for both Common Application (PeopleSoft and Oracle) and Test Scores as requested by admissions.

Maintain training and documentation materials for electronic processes and provide training as needed.
