  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage projects/grants
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sustainable agricultural systems
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft office, utilizing shared drives, and updating websites
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience developing and submitting federal grant proposals
  • Proficiency in developing and analyzing enterprise budgets
  • Demonstrated experience with marketing products, including on social media, and developing customer base
  • Has completed M.S degree
Job Description

This position supports the development and operations of Bobcat Farm at Freeman Center. Bobcat Farm is a demonstration and working farm that teaches students and the larger community techniques for cultivating soilless and soil-based crops, enables agricultural-related research, and will provide fruit and vegetable produce for the university community through Chartwells Dining Services and Bobcat Bounty.

Job Duties
  • Maintain grant budget updates on shared drive (e.g. SharePoint) and perform budget analysis
  • Assist submission of external proposals for funding
  • Assist agricultural sciences faculty with expansion and maintenance of Bobcat Farm on 1.4 acres at Freeman Center
  • Cultivate crops including planting, harvesting, post-harvest processing, andtroubleshooting problems as they arise
  • Manage buyer/customer relationships; manage delivery of produce
  • Assist supervision and training of students
  • Market products and identify new markets
  • Support outreach to visitors including assisting the development of workshops and educational content, and managing the logistics for educational events
