Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.
Job Summary
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for overseeing Cordele Campus. This position is responsible for effectively managing and supervising the safety and security of the Cordele Campus. The supervisor will enforce local, state, and federal laws. This position also requires community policing that involves three key components: developing community partnerships, engaging in problem solving, and implementing community policing activities.
Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a 15-mile radius of the Cordele Campus location upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily activities.
- Clear and Secure the building before and after all classes are done.
- Write reports, prepare documents, clery reporting, and conduct training as needed.
- Assist with interviews of witnesses and suspects.
- Enforces USG policy and procedures.
- Arrests person(s) suspected of crimes
- Testifies in court as needed.
- Conducts building checks.
- Provide directions and information to visitors.
- Assist if needed Execute Search Warrants and Arrest Warrants.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Coordinates with local law enforcement agencies
- Patrols campus and performs various activities within campus safety and security to assist in maintaining a safe campus environment
- Judgment and Decision Making — evaluate the best method of research and then exercises appropriate judgment in establishing priorities and resolving complex matters.
- Attends meetings to include command staff, policy review, etc. Provides updates to the Police Lieutenant regarding investigations, the status of projects, and personnel matters.
- Responsible for securing and unlocking campus buildings and rooms used for daily operations and occasionally may have to respond to alarm calls.
High school Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Georgia POST Police certification with 3 years as a police officer.
2 years of relevant police supervisory experience.
No disciplinary actions within six months.
Must be in good standing with all mandated certifications.
Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the Police Standards and Training Council for the State of Georgia.

The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching. The employee occasionally lifts light objects, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes a sense of smell.
The work is typically performed in a very noisy place, outdoors, and occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee is exposed to dust, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts, and contagious or infectious diseases or irritating chemicals. The work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, and gloves.
