Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Ref.: 519113) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree with an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and a strong track record of high-quality research. They should have project management skills, and the ability to work independently and efficiently; and be able to keep abreast of new scientific and technological developments, and exploit them to continuously improve functional area capabilities.

The appointee will work on research projects in one or both of the following areas: (i) development of microneedles, adipose tissue-targeted nanoparticles, and liver-targeted delivery system; and (ii) detecting and analysis of cardiovascular phenotyping in small animals by using VisualSonics ultrasound image system. He/She will co-ordinate research and communicate with collaborators, prepare reports and scientific publications, and supervise postgraduate students. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
