Job Description:

The Department of Student Life & Leadership at the State University of New York at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Student Leadership Coordinator . In this 10-month position, with June and July as non-obligation, the candidate will coordinate the SUNY Oneonta Leadership program (LEAD@Oneonta). Expectations include, but are not limited to the day to day administration of the comprehensive Leadership Education and Development at Oneonta Program (LEAD@Oneonta program); and program and event support as a staff member in the Office of Student Life & Leadership.

The Office of Student Life & Leadership will promote and provide intentional co-curricular and social opportunities for the students and campus community which support the mission of the college, enhance the collegiate experience, and build community. This position focuses on daily responsibilities to coordinate the comprehensive administration of the SUNY Oneonta Leadership program (LEAD@Oneonta) in the Office of Student life and Leadership.

Duties include but are not limited to
  • Budget, marketing, program and student tracking, student staff oversite, coordination of platinum interviews, LEAD receptions, and assessment of the program.
  • Collaborate and coordinate in the development and implementation of LEAD@Oneonta programing to include Leaders lunches, monitor and approve events using submission workflow.
  • Coordinate and deliver the capstone Harvey Delaney Leadership Institute.
  • General support for office programming and/or campus wide events which may include some evening and weekend work.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with campus leadership programs.
  • Experience with event planning and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated higher education campus involvement outside the classroom.
Preferred:
  • Experience working with and serving diverse populations.
  • One to three years of professional experience working in student activities or college unions.
  • Knowledge of the Anthology Engage platform.
  • Completion of a higher education leadership program.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) competencies.
