Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; this is a temporary position to end on or before June 30, 2023 with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist. Occasional early morning, evening and weekend hours.

About the Position:
The Division of Information Technology strives to be a strategic, innovative and best‐in‐class IT organization that provides a leading‐edge technology environment for students, faculty and staff to advance the University's mission, vision and goals. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our IT-Rollout team as the Information Technology Consultant-Foundation. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Working under direct supervision of the Director of User/Classroom Support Services, the Information Technology Consultant-Foundation provides comprehensive desktop support to students, faculty, staff, and managers furthering the university's academic mission either through their pursuits or through providing services to others that are dependent upon reliable information technology applications. Develops timely and practical solutions to a variety of user problems. Provides resolution to computing questions either over the telephone, via email, or on the field. Tracking and reporting on customer service requests and contacts. Updates lead and management regarding progress on assigned projects, and makes recommendations for improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of work processes and service delivery methods based upon direct experience in the position. Performs tasks to accommodate deployment, maintenance, and repair of computer equipment and devices. Provides system support for operating systems and software including but not limited to Windows operating systems, Apple operating system, desktop applications (Office suite, browsers, etc.), mobile devices (iOS, Android). Provides first line of support for enterprise resource planning (ERP) and custom web-based applications. Ensures operating system software is properly installed, tested and tuned to maximize operating efficiency. Coordinates with the Information Security Officer to ensure the desktops and other applications meet the campus security standards. Periodically reviews all systems software and hardware to ensure system integrity. Ability to establish and document operations procedures. Ability to research new products and releases such as productivity tools. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field or four years relevant full-time experience or an associate’s degree in a related field with two years of relevant full-time experience.
Basic knowledge of the specialty work area demonstrated by an understanding and use of general principals and terminology. Demonstrated understanding of the standard technology and systems in place with the capability of supporting and operating the technology. Ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes, and refer to appropriate party for resolution. Ability to solve problems where precedents exist, and acquire knowledge in related specialties. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using help desk call tracking software. Knowledge and support experience with Windows and Mac Operating Systems, as well as associated desktop applications such as Microsoft Office suite, browsers, and communication tools. Experience using mobile Operating Systems, such as iOS and Android devices, and support the campus-supported mobile apps. Experience in first line support with ERP applications such as PeopleSoft, CMS, and AEM, as well as experience supporting custom web-based applications. Experience creating and testing application software packages and producing end user documentation and instructions.
