Essential Functions
The Coordinator of Events within the Office of New Student and Family Programs will be primarily responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of all in-person orientation and family events. The Coordinator of Events will also support the planning and implementation of all recruitment events for the university. This position will also be responsible for the co-supervision and training of 20+ student Ambassadors who serve as customer service support for the Mavigation Station in the Milo Bail Student Center and support all visits and events hosted by NSFP, as well as university events hosted by other departments. In collaboration with the Coordinator of Campus Visits, this position will develop and conduct a professional and leadership development program for the Ambassador program. This position will conduct thorough assessments of all events and student staff programming.

Develop, implement, and assess in-person orientation programming> Set goals and implementation timelines associated with aspects of orientation programming> Develop and implement events and programs focused on providing a successful onboarding experience for incoming students as they transition to UNO > Manage the logistics and execution of in-person orientation programming and events for all incoming first year, transfer, adult learner, and military/veteran students> Work in partnership with Business Systems Intelligence to develop a registration system for orientation> Manage the logistics and execution of in-person family orientation programming> Apply and remove holds and checklist items from student accounts based on personal interpretation of individual circumstances and university policies> Understand, interpret, and adhere to FERPA guidelines> Conduct assessments to measure success and create reports including recommendations for future iterations and new in-person orientation program
Develop, implement, and assess family programming> Develop and implement events and programs that focus on helping families support their student’s transition and success and creating connections between UNO and families> Manage the logistics and execution of family programs and events> Set goals and implementation timelines associated with aspects of family programming> Collaborate with departments across campus to create family events and programs > Conduct assessments to measure success of programming and events and create reports with findings from assessments, including recommendations for future iterations and new programs> Understand, interpret, and adhere to FERPA guidelines
Supervise 20+ student Ambassadors who aid in the facilitation of campus visits, recruitment events, orientation programming, admissions outreach, and university events > Train and coach student staff on job-specific information and practices> Develop a professional development program for student staff to learn customer service, conflict management skills, professionalism, and other leadership skills> Plan and implement training meetings and staff retreats> Evaluate student performance and conduct performance reviews for staff> Evaluate student performance and conduct performance reviews for staff
Support the planning and implementation of recruitment events > Support the Assistant Director of Campus Visits and Events in the planning and implementation of large-scale recruitment and yield events for prospective studentso Be A Mav Dayso Transfer Eventso Spanish Eventso Admitted Student Eventso Admitted Student Days> Support the identification and implementation of opportunities for faculty and campus partners to be a part of the recruitment and welcome event experience> Develop partnerships with internal (e.g., colleges, departments, Athletics) partners
Required Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree completed
Required Certifications : CPR /First Aid and AED certified or must be able to obtain certification during probationary period.
Preferred Experience: 2 years of professional experience working in a higher education setting (student support services, enrollment management, or student affairs functions);
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education: Master Degree (student affairs, higher education fields preferred)
Preferred Experience: 2 years of professional experience working in a higher education setting (student support services, enrollment management, or student affairs functions);
