Essential Functions

Monitor and operate the campus Energy Management and Control Systems ( EMCS ). Provide technical installation, operation, and maintenance of the EMCS for the purpose of monitoring and controlling the environmental conditions for facilities. Provide expertise in programming and development of EMCS architecture. Assist department Manager in direction of the daily activities of other Automation Controls Technicians within the department.

M-F 8am - 5pm

Additional Duties

Provide general duty assignments to other Automation Controls Technicians within the department. Coordinate activities of the EMCS shop with the Manager of Energy Systems Operations. Assist with planning and completion of the EMCS projects for the campus. Maintain a proper inventory of EMCS parts and materials.
Troubleshoot EMCS malfunctions and repair electronic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment.
Ensure optimum controls operation of all HVAC equipment, lighting controls and energy metering devices on campus. Provide additional expertise in programming and development of EMCS architecture.
Work with drawings and schematic diagrams to layout, install and commission EMCS equipment to include variable speed drives, energy metering devices, DDC control devices, data gathering and multiplexing equipment, field computers and PC workstations.
Maintain proper water/air balance in all campus HVAC systems. Perform preventative maintenance within an assigned area.
Calibrate control systems, modify HVAC and EMCS equipment, and implement computer system upgrades to operate more efficiently.

Required Qualifications

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education: Associate’s degree in HVAC Systems Technology.

Required Experience: : Minimum of five years’ experience in the installation, diagnostic and repairs of EMCS for HVAC systems.
Additional Requirements: Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience: Prior experience with Niagra/Tridum & Staefa systems. Experience with lighting controls systems and utility metering systems. Served in a leadership capacity.
