Arts & Crafts Coordinator, Camp Notre Dame

Notre Dame of Maryland University is seeking an Arts & Crafts Coordinator for our summer program, Camp Notre Dame, for children ages 5-11. The Arts & Crafts Coordinator plans, facilitates, and evaluates the Arts & Crafts programming of the camp.

Essential functions will include, but are not limited to :

  1. Create a safe, welcoming environment in which all program participants can fully participate
  2. Develop program schedule including daily activities and coordination of special events
  3. Inventories, purchases and distributes all program supplies, keeping within program budget
  4. Plan and facilitate daily arts activities for all camper groups
  5. Work collaboratively with other program leaders to effectively utilize resources and solve problems.
  6. Lunchtime supervision one day per week.
  7. On-site presence required Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm during every day of camp operation. Attendance required at staff orientation session prior to first day of camp. Time to be spent as needed prior to first day of camp to ensure proper program organization.
  8. Other tasks as assigned by the Camp Coordinator to ensure a smooth and safe camp operation


Qualifications :
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Strong group/classroom management abilities
  • Skills to lead area counselors and teach facilitation techniques
  • Creativity both in project creation and problem solving
  • Adaptability
  • Inventory management
  • Training and experience in a variety of arts and crafts areas
  • Experience working with children of diverse ages
