Reporting to the Program Director for the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) Program in the University College, the Coordinator for Transfer Student Success (BIS) is an integral part of UNCP’s efforts to support the engagement, persistence, and graduation of our diverse student body. The BIS program serves transfer and adult students, in particular, who seek a broad, more flexible degree program to help them to advance or become more established in their careers or to improve their understanding of the world around them. The Coordinator for Transfer Student Success works to develop and execute a suite of initiatives particularly focused on the engagement, retention, and persistence of transfer and adult students in the BIS program. This position will also advise students in the BIS program.

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:  Master’s Degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Student Development or related field from and accredited college or university with at least two years of experience working with programs designed to support the academic success of undergraduate students required. This position requires strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and the ability to collaborate and develop strong, positive working relationships with others. Demonstrated flexibility and proven interpersonal skills are essential. Applicant must be technologically sound and have supervisory experience.

Management Preferences:  Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation. Experience with or demonstrated understanding of the specific developmental needs of adult, transfer, at risk, and diverse student populations. Prior experience teaching in higher education.
