Capital University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Finance and Economics, effective August 2023. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service. The normal teaching load for the position is 6 courses (24 credits) per academic year, primarily at the undergraduate level and occasionally at the graduate level. Summer opportunities may be available. Courses will include, but not necessarily be limited to, Financial Institutions and Markets, Investments, Corporate Finance, as well as Principles of Macroeconomics and Intermediate Macroeconomics. Business experience and/or professional finance certifications will be an advantage but are not expected.

Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Economics or a closely related discipline; ABD's who have a firm completion date will also be considered;
  • Previous university teaching experience;

Application Process: Application Process: Interested candidates should send: 1) a letter of interest outlining the applicant's philosophy and experience with respect to teaching, research, and service; 2) a curriculum vitae; 3) a transcript of all graduate coursework; 4) research sample, 5) teaching evaluations, and 6) names and contact information of three references. Initial interviews will be conducted via Zoom in early February. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
