Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Technology & Security is seeking excellent candidate for an IT System Administrator. The candidate will manage software and hardware involved in running a computer network. Candidate must be ready to be an active participant in department with a strong commitment to excellence. The candidate should:
1) Track network traffic activity, install, and configure software updates.
2) Perform database backups to restore, install hardware, protect user information and other duties as related.
3) Provide operational support to users, programmers and computer operations personnel.
4) Investigate and resolve complex system errors and processing problems.
5) Minimize conflict for resources by identifying and maintaining priorities, reviewing job schedules, and monitoring system to maintain optimum response times.
6) Assist in evaluating and recommending resource requirements.
7) Develop complex programs, participate in strategies for total system and application security.
8) Implement control procedures consistent with audit requirements.
9) Develop and maintain client system and operations documentation.
10) Respond to inquiries, and requests from clients.
11) Perform vulnerability and penetration test.
12) Monitor traffic for suspicious activity.
13) Implement network security policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Undergraduate degree in Computer Technology or related field(s). Has a demonstrated history in cyber defense.

Experience

Has knowledge and demonstrated ability to program in Java, Python, C and Assembly languages.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

General knowledge of applicable software products of applicable computers and peripherals. Skill in configuring computer hardware and software; to analytically design program logic to solve technical problems in operating supported computers and peripherals. Work independently with a strong work ethic; strong people skills; excellent communication (both orally and in writing); interpersonal skills; and demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders (faculty, staff and students).
