Location

Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary

Develops plans to increase ASU's online presence and grow the number of academic programs offered through distance learning. Recommends policy and procedures related to distance and online learning. Collaborates with faculty and departments to identify new distance learning opportunities. Aids the development and implementation of online courses and programs. Manages the Distance Learning department, supervises staff and responds to issues related to distance learning. Manages the budget and other resources in the department. Collaborates with the Center for Faculty Excellence to provide training and workshops related to distance learning. Remains current with regional and national developments in distance education. Ensures compliance with ASU, USG, state and federal policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Manages the Distance Learning department, including supervising staff and responding to issues related to distance learning.
  • Manages the budget and other resources for the Department. Provides reports as necessary.
  • Develops and implements online courses and programs to increase ASU's online presence and grow the number of academic programs offered through distance learning.
  • Recommends policies and procedures related to distance and online learning.
  • Researches and analyzes regional and national trends in distance education.
  • Ensures compliance with ASU, University System of Georgia, state, and federal policies and guidelines.
  • In collaboration with the Center for Faculty Excellence, provides training and workshops related to distance learning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or Educational Technology or equivalent required

Five years of progressive responsibility in a university setting, including a supervisory role.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate preferred

Proposed Salary

Salary range is from $64,000 to $90,000

Knowledge of current issues, trends, and best practices in distance education.

Knowledge of modes of distance delivery, including online, hybrid and video conferencing.

Understand recent developments in distance education technologies.

Skilled in customer service

Ability to manage financial resources
