The primary purpose for the Financial Aid Advisor is to provide students and families accurate and timely financial advising, including financial aid, billing, and VA related questions and concerns escalated by the One Stop office. In addition, the Financial Aid Advisor will assist with operational tasks related to financial aid processing including file reviews, verification, awarding, processing withdrawal calculations, work-study, SAP, and conducting presentations. Financial Aid Advisors will comply with federal, state and institutional regulations, policies and procedures.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
  • Assist students with requests related to financial aid billing/payment and VA funding.
  • Advise students on withdrawal calculations, including Return of Title IV funds.
  • Counsel students and parents on complex financial aid and financial literacy issues.
  • Contact students regarding current outstanding balances.
  • Counsel students on professional judgment, unusual enrollment and loan proration.
  • Advise students on SAP violation and appeal completion, review SAP appeals, and coordinate the appeal processes

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or other related field.
  • Two years of financial aid experience preferred.
